Napoli have reportedly launched an improved offer to sign Sassuolo attacker Giacomo Raspadori, with Newcastle United and West Ham also making bids for the Italian international.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Serie A side have made a €29m (£25m) offer to sign Raspadori, with the striker already agreeing on personal terms to a five-year deal with Napoli as the ‘majestic’ forward closes in on a move to southern Italy.

One of the most exciting talents in Serie A, Raspadori stole headlines for Sassuolo last season alongside Gianluca Scamacca, who has also won a huge move this summer to West Ham, with the 22-year-old now also set to join his attacking partner through the exit to sign for Napoli.

The Partenopei are keen to sign a new forward this summer following the departures of club captain Lorenzo Insigne as well as their all-time leading goalscorer Dries Mertens, with Raspadori viewed as a player who can lead the line for Napoli for many years to come.

And the Italian giants have now seemingly won the race for Raspadori, with Newcastle and West Ham set to miss out on the Italian international despite reportedly making offers earlier in the window to sign the attacker, who is poised to join Napoli next week.

Indeed, Raspadori could be an incredible new addition for Luciano Spalletti’s side this summer, yet for Newcastle and West Ham, missing out on the youngster will be a huge blow for their plans in the remaining weeks of the transfer window, with both Premier League clubs eager to bring in another attacker.

Raspadori enjoyed a breakout year with Sassuolo last campaign, and with Napoli now making a £25m offer to sign the youngster, the attacker is ready to take the next step in his promising career, and the Serie A giants have done well to beat Newcastle and West Ham to the forward.

With UEFA Champions League football on the cards for Napoli this season, beating their English rivals to Raspadori is a strong sign of intent from the Italian side, and given the lack of attackers in the squad, the 22-year-old can expect to play plenty of football in the coming campaign.
