Speaking on the Seaman Says Podcast, David Seaman has had a go at predicting some of this weekend’s Premier League games.

The marquee match of his weekend is undoubtedly Chelsea vs Tottenham as we see two of the big six face each other for the first time this season.

Both London clubs earned wins on the opening weekend of the season, and there’s reason to believe this could be a tightly-contested match.

Seaman has predicted a closely-run contest, stating that he thinks Chelsea will just edge this one 2-1.

What’s been said?

Seaman had a go at predicting the outcome of this one.

“They did look very ominous against Southampton, but I’ve seen a lot of these games before and Spurs, they seem to get rattled. I’m not going for a Spurs win, never, I’m going to go for Chelsea to win 2-1. It’s going to be so close these are two quality teams. Chelsea, everyone says they’re not going to be top four or five but they still look quality,” Seaman said.

Tough to call

This may be one of the hardest game to predict in the Premier League this season.

Spurs looked absolutely brilliant against Southampton last week and they come into this one with a lot of momentum, but you’d be a fool to ever back against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

For all of the ongoing issues at Chelsea, they’re still one of the best teams in Europe, and while they’ve not landed all of their top targets this summer, they’ve got a fantastic squad of incredibly talented players.

Seaman thinks that Chelsea will just about edge this one, and we’re inclined to agree.
