Inter Milan prospect Cesare Casadei has now decided that he wishes to leave the San Siro for a chance to play in England this summer, after gaining interest at Arsenal and Chelsea.

Arsenal, Chelsea target Cesare Casadei wants to leave Inter Milan for England

According to Corriere dello Sport, via Calciomercato, Cesare Casadei has decided he wants to leave Inter Milan for a new challenge in England. The 19-year-old is yet to make his first-team breakthrough at the San Siro, but feels ready to try his luck at a Premier League club.

His future with the Nerazzurri now firmly hangs in the balance after four seasons plying his trade in their youth ranks. Casadei joined Inter Milan’s academy from Cesena in 2018, and has been an influential presence at Primavera level whilst rising through their age groups.

Inter Milan chairman Giuseppe Marotta and sporting director Piero Ausilio expect contacts will now advance over selling Casadei after their opening Serie A fixture of the new season. Simone Inzaghi’s side start their 2022/23 campaign away against Lecce this Saturday night.

Chelsea have already shown their interest in signing Casadei, who also has offers in France and Italy to leave Inter Milan. Ligue 1 outfit OGC Nice admire the midfielder, who features on Sassuolo’s radar in Serie A. But further suitors are also on the scene for the Italy U19 talent.

Marotta and Ausilio will demand an upfront €15m (£12.5m) to sell Casadei. But Inter Milan may pass up on any potential future add-ons in favour of a percentage of a future transfer. Banking on another club one day cashing in on his rise from a successful youth-level career.

Cesare Casadei could be next rising to star to head to London this summer

Chelsea are currently yet to meet Inter Milan’s asking price after exploring their interest in Casadei. Gazzetta dello Sport note the Stamford Bridge outfit improved their opening €8m (£6.75m) bid to €10m (£8.5m). While La Repubblica also report Arsenal had a bid rejected.

Neither Arsenal nor Chelsea have been ready to pay inter Milan’s valuation to ensure their interest in Casadei wins out. But with the Italian now deciding he wants to secure a switch to England this summer, the London rivals may ramp up their recruitment drive a bit more.

Mikel Arteta and Thomas Tuchel have already added a number of emerging talents to their squads in north and west London this summer. The Gunners bought Marquinhos from Sao Paulo for £3m, while the Blues paid Aston Villa £20m in a move for Carney Chukwuemeka.
