Manchester United assistant coach Steve McClaren has recommended the Red Devils to sign Celtic full-back Josip Juranovic in the summer transfer window, according to journalist Dean Jones.

The well-known and well-respected journalist has told GiveMeSport that McClaren, who worked at Manchester United under then manager Sir Alex Ferguson, has told new boss Erik ten Hag to sign the 26-year-old Croatia international right-back from Celtic.

90min reported this week that United and Chelsea are interested in securing the services of the 26-year-old right-back.

Steve McClaren recommends Celtic’s Josip Juranovic to Manchester United

Jones told GiveMeSport: “Interestingly, I’m told that he’s playing a part in this guy.

“He’s recommended him and it feels like he’s a player that would fit in well, so I do think there’s reason to take that rumour seriously.”

Could a transfer happen?

In our view, Manchester United could be able to sign Josip Juranovic from Celtic in the summer transfer window.

90min have reported that the defending Scottish Premiership champions are open to selling the Croatian if they receive bids of £15 million or move.

For a club of United’s stature and wealth, £15 million is not really much.

In our opinion, if the Red Devils are really keen on the Celtic star, then they should pay the money now and get a deal done.

Juranovic made 23 starts and three substitute appearances in the Scottish Premiership for Celtic last season, scoring three goals and providing one assist in the process.
