Harvey Elliott‘s new contract has represented another massive piece of good news at Liverpool.
On Thursday, the Reds announced that Elliott had put pen to paper on a fresh long-term contract at Anfield.
Despite struggling for regular football during the second half of last season, the 19-year-old remains an enormously-exciting prospect at Liverpool.
And under a man-manager of Jurgen Klopp’s talents, you get the feeling that the former Fulham prospect is only going to get frighteningly better.
Here’s what Klopp told Liverpool’s official website: “There is so much to like about this. For us, as a club, we get to continue our journey with a special young player who has already made a big impact on Liverpool FC.
“For Harvey, he gets to carry on developing, improving and hopefully fulfilling his incredible talent at the club he has always supported. What’s not to like?”
This could be one hell of a season for Elliott.
For the first couple months of the 2021-22 campaign, the youngster was a regular in Klopp’s Liverpool XI and making waves in the Premier League.
He suffered a grisly injury away to Leeds United in a development which sidelined him until the new year more or less, before struggling to play his way back into the German manager’s plans for the rest of the season.
However, his early-season form last term was testament to his ability and it’ll be fascinating to see what he does in a red shirt under Klopp this time around.
This announcement about his contract is likely to only motivate him to improve further.
