Hector Bellerin is the focus of the latest Arsenal transfer news.

The Gunners have enjoyed an excellent summer window on the recruitment front, spending £120 million on five players.

However, some also need to leave Arsenal before the window shuts – and Bellerin is among them.

Mikel Arteta and Edu have already cleared out a decent chunk of deadwood including Lucas Torreira and Pablo Mari.

Last week it was reported that Bellerin’s agent was travelling to North London for discussions about terminating his client’s contract at the Emirates Stadium, enabling him to potentially join Real Betis – whom he impressed for during a loan last season – on a permanent basis.

However, there’s a new, much bigger fish being discussed.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the Arsenal defender’s representatives have offered the 27-year-old to Barcelona.

After failing to land Cesar Azpilicueta, the Spanish right-back is now apparently on the Camp Nou outfit’s radar.

Mundo has added that Bellerin himself would ‘look very favourably’ on the prospect of returning to Catalunya, having left to join Arsene Wenger’s side as a teenager.

Whatever happens, it’s clear that he has no future under Mikel Arteta in the Premier League.

Bellerin, who earns £110,000 per week, is, at best, Arteta’s third-choice option for that role, behind Takehiro Tomiyasu and even centre-back Ben White.

Quitting the Gunners is a must for the player and it’ll be fascinating to see if he returns to the Blaugrana this summer.
