Nicolas Pepe leaving Arsenal has always been on the agenda this summer.

The former Lille winger had his worst season yet at the Gunners last season, struggling for regular football in a major way.

So when the summer transfer window opened, moving on the Ivory Coast international looked like a logical progression.

According to Goal.com last week, Arsenal boss MIkel Arteta is ‘desperate’ to offload the winger.

And if one rumour from France is true, well Pepe is finally finished in North London.

That’s because according to But! Football Club, the Emirates Stadium outfit are weighing up an offer to sign Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby.

HITC Sport wrote on Friday about how the £59 million-rated attacker is the missing piece of the jigsaw for Arteta this summer.

And the truth is that if Arsenal can land the 23-year-old then Pepe, who like Diaby is a winger, is officially done at the Emirates.

The Gunners cannot ideally offload Pepe without having a replacement because flop or not, he is capable of changing a game for Arteta’s outfit, as demonstrated at times last season, and selling him without having a successor in the squad would be silly.

However, it does look like Diaby could be the long-term Pepe replacement that the North Londoners have been chasing and if the former is signed, the latter is gone.
