Chris Sutton has backed Arsenal to beat Leicester City in the Premier League this Saturday, but is reluctant to predict too much for Mikel Arteta’s team despite Gabriel Jesus’ transfer.
Chris Sutton feels Arsenal ‘bubble will eventually burst’ despite Gabriel Jesus deal
Gabriel Jesus has impressed Chris Sutton with what the Brazilian has provided under Mikel Arteta since signing for Arsenal. But the BBC Sport pundit is reluctant to predict too much from the Gunners in the Premier League this season as their ‘bubble will eventually burst’.

Not this weekend, though, as the former Chelsea and Celtic centre-forward believes Arteta will have too much at his disposal for Leicester City to handle. The Foxes visit the Emirates Stadium in matchweek two of the new campaign this Saturday chasing their debut victory.

Brendan Rodgers saw in the King Power Stadium natives’ term with a 2-2 draw at home to Brentford last Sunday. Arsenal, on the other, took all three points with a 2-0 win away to London rivals Crystal Palace. Jesus was also a lively presence throughout at Selhurst Park.
Arteta spent big to bring Jesus to Arsenal after agreeing a £45m deal with Manchester City to sign the striker. Emirates Stadium chiefs also agreed to make the 25-year-old their best-paid player on a £265k-a-week contract, per Spotrac, which runs until the summer of 2027.
Jesus merited such a salary and transfer fee, having moved to north London on the back of his fourth Premier League title. The 56-cap Brazil international also offered eight goals and nine assists on route to City edging Liverpool for the crown under Pep Guardiola last term.

Chris Sutton will not get on Gunners ‘bandwagon’ after Crystal Palace win
Jesus is yet to get off the mark for Arsenal in the Premier League, but impressed Sutton on debut against Crystal Palace. The Selecao star was a constant issue for the Eagles defence as he twisted and turned his way through the Selhurst Park ranks with a superb work-rate.
Sutton admires what Jesus now offers Arsenal, having joined to fill the void that Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang left. But the BBC Sport pundit is hesitant to get carried away and predict a lot from Arteta’s squad as their lively start will, eventually, end.
“I don’t want to jump on that bandwagon because I think their bubble will eventually burst a little bit,” Sutton wrote. “But I like what Gabriel Jesus has brought to their attack and, at home, I think they should edge this one.”
