Jamie Redknapp has labelled Mikel Arteta‘s behaviour in Arsenal training as ‘really bizarre’ following footage on the Amazon documentary.

As illustrated in the All or Nothing show, the Gunners manager helped his troops prepare for Liverpool away last season by blaring out You’ll Never Walk Alone via speakers during a training session.

Arsenal went on to lose the encounter 4-0 in what was one of their worst performances of the season.

And Redknapp, speaking to 90 Min, has admitted that he was stunned by the method behind Arteta’s madness.

He said: “Putting You’ll Never Walk Alone on the speakers is one of the maddest things I’ve seen. That is really bizarre because you can’t recreate that. That’s trying too hard.”

There’s a number of rather questionable techniques shown in the Amazon documentary.

But the truth is, the Arsenal players appear to be buying into the majority of what the Spaniard is trying to do.

They narrowly missed out on Champions League qualification last term, with Arteta earning a new £160,000-a-week contract for his overall efforts [The Sun].

And this season, they have spent £120 million on five players, more than any other Premier League, and it could be exactly what’s needed to secure a top-four finish.

Whether this You’ll Never Walk Alone stunt was ‘bizarre’ or not, the former Manchester City assistant is capable of getting a tune out of these Arsenal players on different occasions.
