French outlet Foot Mercato report that Leeds United are close to completing a deal for Watford attacker Ismaila Sarr – despite the Senegal international being linked with a move to both Manchester United and West Ham United of late.
Sarr, 24, is now in his fourth season at Watford – his second in the Championship. He has got off to an excellent start, scoring from inside his own half against West Brom on Monday. It is his form in the top tier that has caught the eye.
He has 18 goal involvements in 50 Premier League matches for the Hornets and Leeds are close to a deal. Reports state that the £29.5million-rated talent is a target for both Manchester United and West Ham this summer.
But reports from FM claim that Leeds are now close to a deal. They report that Leeds are both close to reaching an agreement with Watford regarding a fee, and are near an agreement with Sarr over duration and wages of his deal.

However, the report states that the deal for Sarr does hinge on one aspect. That aspect being that Leeds need to sell one of their own before they bring in the winger. It is unclear the identity of that Leeds player.
Leeds close to Sarr deal
What a signing this is for Leeds. Some may point to the club boasting numerous options out wide, but peel back the cover and the signing makes sense. Leeds have sold Raphinha, but brought in Luis Sinisterra from Feyenoord.
They have kept Jack Harrison, still have Dan James, and handed Crysencio Summerville a new deal. But Summerville is a rookie, Sinisterra is injured. Leeds also want a striker, but signing a winger like Sarr allows Rodrigo to play up front.
Sarr himself can also do a job up top. For less than £30million, bringing in the ex-Rennes attacker is a wonderful bit of business. Not least, because the Whites are said to have beaten Manchester United and West Ham to his signature.
