West Ham United want Ibrahim Sangare and seemingly aren’t put off by the fact that he has signed a new contract with PSV Eindhoven.
The Hammers are in the market for a midfielder but are struggling to get deals done in that area.
Lille star Amadou Onana has picked Everton as his destination, whilst Napoli duo Fabian Ruiz and Piotr Zielinski seemingly aren’t keen.
Flynn Downes did arrive earlier this summer but West Ham need more and David Moyes continues to push for a major addition.
West Ham United want Ibrahim Sangare
One target whose name popped up over the weekend is that of PSV Eindhoven midfielder Ibrahim Sangare.
The 24-year-old is a huge defensive midfielder at 6ft 3in tall and has impressed both for PSV and with former club Toulouse.
The Daily Mail reported that West Ham were considering a move for Sangare this summer, which could cost up to £25million.
Yet just a matter of hours later, PSV confirmed that Sangare has signed a new contract until 2027.
Sangare commented on being ‘very happy’ to have committed his future to PSV, seemingly ending West Ham’s hopes in one fell swoop.

Yet Foot Mercato claim that West Ham are not scared off by this new contract and remain interested in signing Sangare.
It’s stated that West Ham are ‘very keen’ on signing Sangare and could still launch an offer for the defensive midfielder.
That would be a strange step from West Ham, who need signings in quickly to appease boss David Moyes.
Going for a player who just signed a bumper five-year deal just seems like a chase that will be complicated and drawn-out.
The only way this would work is if Sangare has a release clause in that new deal, just ensuring that PSV get a little more cash than the £25million mentioned.
Without such a clause, it feels like West Ham would be wasting their time going for Sangare.
