Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic, David Moyes’s West Ham United and Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United are among the clubs interested in signing Ross Barkley from Chelsea in the summer transfer window, according to journalist Simon Phillips.
The well-known and well-respected journalist has told GiveMeSport that that Everton, Aston Villa, Brighton and Hove Albion, Newcastle, West Ham and Celtic all are keen on securing the services of Barkley, who earns £100,000 per week as salary (SalarySport).
Celtic, West Ham and Newcastle linked with Chelsea’s Ross Barkley
Phillips told GiveMeSport: “With Ross Barkley, he’s got a lot of other clubs interested in him at the moment so it’s not just Everton. He’s got Brighton, Newcastle, West Ham and Aston Villa and Celtic. So got plenty of options to go to.”
In our view, it is very likely that Chelsea will offload Ross Barkley in the summer transfer window, especially with Celtic, West Ham United, Aston Villa and Newcastle United all interested in the English attacking midfielder.
The 28-year-old has struggled to make a huge impact at Chelsea, but we have seen from his time at Everton just how good he is.
Moreover, Barkley is still only 28 now, so there is every possibility that the English playmaker will be able to recover his old form of Everton.
Barkley has scored 29 goals and created 39 big chances in 232 Premier League appearances so far in his career.
The attacking midfielder made one start and five substitute appearances in the Premier League, and made one start and two substitute appearances in the UEFA Champions League for Chelsea last season.
