Speaking to The Athletic, Leeds United chairman, Andrea Radrizzani has addressed Jack Harrison’s situation amid ongoing links to Newcastle United.

As many will know, Newcastle are in the market for a new winger at the moment. The likes of Harvey Barnes, Moussa Diaby and Harrison have all been linked, but until now, the Magpies have had no luck in their pursuits.

There are ongoing rumours about Harrison joining Newcastle, but, according to Radrizzani, there is absolutely no way this deal will happen.

What’s been said?

The Leeds boss gave a blunt answer about Harrison.

“Absolutely not,” Radrizzani said when asked about Harrison potentially heading to St James’ Park.

“There is no way. Jack stays here.”

Another one bites the dust

Newcastle’s pursuit of a new winger is becoming a bit like Groundhog Day, they simply keep getting rejected.

Diaby, Barnes, Harrison, Maxwel Cornet and so many more have been targeted by Eddie Howe’s side this summer, and yet, the richest club in the world still haven’t got a deal over the line.

Say what you will about Newcastle’s business so far, but it’s hard not to sympathise with the Magpies on this front.

They’re being priced out of almost every move due to their immense wealth, and while the new owners want to make a splash in the market, they’re, quite simply, unable to do so.

Luckily for Newcastle, Allan Saint-Maximin and Ryan Fraser should both be good enough to help the Magpies get some points on the board in the early knockings of this season, but if Newcastle truly want to challenge towards the top-end of the Premier League, they need to add more quality on the wings.
