Fabrizio Romano has reported on Twitter that Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur are set to sign Destiny Udogie from Udinese in the summer transfer window.

The well-known and well-respected journalist has claimed that Tottenham have reached “full agreement on personal terms” with Udogie and his agents.

Romano has added that the 19-year-old Italian left-back will sign a five-year contract with Tottenham, who could send the teenager back on loan to Italian club Udinese for this season.

The Telegraph had earlier reported that Tottenham will pay Udinese £21 million in transfer fees for Udogie.

Tottenham Hotspur to sign Destiny Udogie from Udinese

One for the future

That Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly willing to send Destiny Udogie back on loan to Udinese suggests that he is being considered as a signing for the future.

After all, the Italy Under-21 international is only 19.

Udogie is unlikely to play regularly for Tottenham this season, so a loan stay at Udinese for this season does make sense.

After all, the left-back was a regular for Udinese last season when he was on loan from Hellas Verona.

Udogie made 29 starts and six substitute appearances in Serie A last season.

The Italy Under-21 international left-back scored five goals and provided four assists in those games.
