A new PS Plus August 2022 Free Games Trial is now live as part of the Premium Tier on PlayStation consoles.

And with more full experiences on the horizon, fans have all different options for genres and games to enjoy this month.

There are the new Essential Tier games that went live earlier this week, including Yakuza: Like A Dragon, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2, and Little Nightmares.

But this weekend, you can jump into something a little different before moving on to what’s coming next as part of the Premium Refresh.

New PS+ Game Trial Out Now

Fans have spotted that Phoenix Point Behemoth Edition has been added to the PS Plus Premium Free Game Trials Tier for August 2022 in some regions, with another scheduled to follow later this month.

This means that you can play a snippet of turn-based action before deciding whether you want to buy the full version.

From what has been shared by fans online, the Phoenix Point Behemoth Edition is available as a free trial for two hours, meaning you are limited in what you can experience from it.

The new game trial is available via the PlayStation Plus Tab on PS4 and PS5 consoles, and the full version will cost you 32.99 from the PS Store. And while it might be limited to some regions, fans have also been told that Rollerdrome will be added as Premium Free Game on August 16.

It should be noted that any trophies and game save data from the trial period will carry forward if you purchase the game, and all trophies earned during your time-limited game trial through the PlayStation Plus Premium plan will remain on your PSN profile, even after you complete the trial and decide not to purchase the title.

For those that have never played it, Phoenix Point is a new game designed by Julian Gollop, the original creator of the XCOM series. And it shares a lot of DNA with those original titles from the 90s, with gamers controlling a team of soldiers as they take on a global threat.

There is both turn-based action, where you will control your team in the field, selecting their individual loadouts before looking to eliminate an opposing force, while limited to a certain number of moves and actions. A huge part of the game is focused on building your own base on a world map, which involves researching new technology scavenged from your most recent encounters.

And here are some of the other current PS Plus Premium Game Trials you can access via the PlayStation Store if turn-based strategy is not your favourite genre:
