Leicester City will not sell Tottenham Hotspur target James Maddison to Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United in the summer transfer window, according to 90min.

90min have reported that Tottenham and Newcastle want to sign Maddison from Premier League rivals Leicester this summer.

The Magpies have had two offers for the 25-year-old English attacking midfielder turned down, according to 90min.

Could Leicester sell Tottenham and Newcastle target James Maddison?

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has publicly said that he will not sell Maddison this summer, but, as we all know, money talks.

Newcastle’s second offer for the playmaker was £45 million plus add-ons.

Now, it remains to be seen if the Magpies make a third bid, and if they do, how much they are willing to go up to.

Tottenham’s interest in Maddison could also make things interesting in the final weeks of the summer transfer window.

Now, we do not think that Tottenham will pay £45 million for 25-year-old attacking midfielder who has one England cap, but you just never know.

Maddison – described as “superbly consistent” by former Tottenham striker Gary Lineker on Twitter in May 2022 – himself could be tempted by a move to Spurs, who will play in the UEFA Champions League next season and have the world-class Antonio Conte as their manager.
