The Bratz girls with a passion for fashion came alive 15 years ago today (August 3) in 2007’s teen comedy, so what have the fabulous four and their classmates been up to since?
The age-old question of which doll is better – Bratz or Barbie – still stands, but there’s one thing the former beat their competition to: releasing a live-action movie based on the famous characters. While Barbie, starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, is still in its filming stages, Bratz released their film 15 years ago.
It received several Golden Raspberry nominations, but with their cringey dialogue and Y2K outfits, it remains a guilty pleasure.
Where the Bratz cast are now
Nathalia Ramos (Yasmin)
Now age 30, Ramos was just 15 years old when she landed the role of Yasmin, the music-loving teen who finds a connection with deaf student Dylan.
Since her 2007 role, she has only appeared in eight more, the most famous being as House Of Anubis’ Nina Martin. Ramos’ last acting gig came in 2015’s Seoul Searching.
Ramos has been occupied by motherhood since July 2022; she gave birth to a son named Theo, who she shares with husband Derek An. They tied the knot around December 2021 after a 13-year relationship.
Skyler Shaye (Cloe)
Like Ramos, Skyler Shaye’s acting career has been relatively quiet since she portrayed soccer superstar Cloe. She played Kylie Bobbins in 2004’s Superbabies: Baby Geniuses 2, leading to three more appearances in its sequels.
The 35-year-old actress cameoed in three Grey’s Anatomy episodes and currently resides in New Mexico with partner and musician Christian Lopez.
Janel Parrish (Jade)
Parrish comes out on top as the most popular Bratz star. With 9.4 million Instagram followers, over 48 credits and four Teen Choice Awards, the 33-year-old is one of the most successful Asian actresses in Hollywood.
Other than her film debut as secret fashionista Jade, she’s best known as Pretty Little Liars antagonist Mona Vanderwaal. As the first and original A, she was named best villain by the Teen Choice Awards for four years.
She married Chris Long in September 2018 after two years of dating. Her father-in-law tragically passed away in car accident two weeks before the wedding.
Logan Browning (Sasha)
Portraying cheerleader Sasha was the perfect training for her starring role as Hit the Floor’s Jelena Howard, the cheerleading captain of the fictional Los Angeles Devil Girls.
Other credits include the Tyler Perry series For Better or Worse and the Proud Family reboot. The 33-year-old established herself as a Netflix star in Dear White People, a comedy series that follows several black college students while touching on American race relations.
Chelsea Kane (Meredith Baxter Dimly)
If Kane looks familiar, it’s because she’s a certified Disney star. Starting with Minutemen, alongside Jason Dolley, she went on to Starstruck with another Disney heartthrob, Sterling Knight.
Meanwhile, her gig as Stella Malone – Joe Jonas’ love interest- on Jonas established her as a fan favorite. She even appeared in the Disney Channel Games – if that’s not confirmation, we don’t know what is.
Kane proved herself as a talented ballroom dancer by placing third on Dancing With The Stars in 2011. Recurring roles in the past decade include One Tree Hill and Netflix’s The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia.
Bratz is available to stream on Netflix now.
