Drake poses with Virgil’s Maybach

The video starts off with Drake at a concert before he heads to an airport, sits on a boat and sings in various other locations.

Then, just over half way through, he poses with Virgil Abloh’s Maybach as he sings the line about the Off-White founder.

“Off-road Maybach, Pyrex trap/ Virgil came back through the boy, damn,” he raps as the camera zooms into different parts of the car.

The futuristic truck is beige and black in colour and has huge tires, as well as a massive screen inside and bars on the roof.

Before his tragic death in late 2021, the Louis Vuitton artistic director collaborated with Mercedes to design a whole range of different cars.

One of them was a G-Wagon and another was a limited edition gold and black Mercedes‑Maybach S‑Class S680, of which only 150 were made.

Virgil also designed an off-road version of the two-tone Maybach, which is what features in Drake’s music video.

Fans are obsessed with Virgil’s design

So iconic:

Drake teased the car on Instagram on Monday, posting a photo of a vehicle under a cover with the caption: “Sticky directed by Theo Skudra out now.”

On the photo, he tagged Virgil, whose Instagram page is still active following his death last year.

Many guessed that it must be a Maybach, with one person writing “that Maybach is something serious” and another adding “definitely the Off Road Maybach”.

Virgil passed away in November 2021

The world was devastated when Virgil Abloh sadly passed away in November 2021 at just 41 years old.

The Off-White founder and artistic director of Louis Vuitton menswear passed away from cancer. He had been battling a rare form of cancer called cardiac angiosarcoma privately since 2019.

“We are devastated to announce the passing of our beloved Virgil Abloh, a fiercely devoted father, husband, son, brother and friend,” his family wrote in an Instagram statement

“He is survived by his loving wife Shannon Abloh, his children Lowe Abloh and Grey Abloh, his sister Edwina Abloh, his parents Nee and Eunice Abloh, and numerous dear friends and colleagues,” the statement continued.

The renowned designer chose to endure his battle away from the public eye, undergoing “numerous challenging treatments” whilst “helming several significant institutions that span fashion, art, and culture”.
