Liverpool could sell Nat Phillips for cheaper than expected having reduced his asking price to around £10million this summer.
The Reds have sold one defender this summer by allowing Ben Davies to sign for Rangers.
Rhys Williams has been loaned to Blackpool and there is an expectation that Sepp van den Berg will also be leaving the club on loan.
There could still more departures in the heart of defence though with Phillips seemingly available.
Liverpool could sell Nat Phillips
Phillips, 25, joined Liverpool from Bolton Wanderers back in 2016.
After spending the 2019-20 season out on loan at Stuttgart in Germany, Phillips looked set to leave Anfield.
In October 2020, Phillips was on the verge of a £2.5million move to Swansea City as a replacement for Joe Rodon, who joined Tottenham Hotspur.
The deal fell through and Phillips was left to stay at Anfield despite little chance of first-team action – or so he thought.
A defensive injury crisis at Liverpool resulted in Phillips playing a key role for Jurgen Klopp’s side, becoming something of a fan favourite in the process.

Phillips wasn’t flashy but he headed and cleared the ball way brilliantly, proving to be a solid Premier League defender.
Once the injury crisis was over, Phillips struggled to feature last season and spent the second half of the campaign on loan at Bournemouth.
Many expected Phillips to join Bournemouth permanently but that hasn’t happened.
The Express now report that Liverpool have dropped their asking price on Phillips in an attempt to sell him.
Liverpool initially wanted £15million but are now prepared to take £10million, with the Reds preferring a sale over another loan.
Bournemouth will surely be interested at that price but there is bound to be other Premier League interest with Liverpool ready to offload the defender.
