Everton are swerving Michy Batshuayi having decided to back away from any move for the Chelsea striker this summer.
The Toffees are suddenly becoming very busy in the transfer market after a slow start to their business.
Ruben Vinagre and Dwight McNeil both joined Everton last week, strengthening the left flank for Frank Lampard and co.
Add in that James Tarkowski has already arrived and the seemingly-imminent deal for Idrissa Gueye and Everton seem to be getting their business done.
A striker is still needed but one name who seemingly won’t be arriving at Everton now is Michy Batshuayi.
Everton are swerving Michy Batshuayi
Everton continue to be linked with Chelsea players, which is no surprise given the Frank Lampard connection.
The latest name is Batshuayi, with 90Min reporting just a matter of days ago that Everton were in talks to sign the Belgian attacker.
Batshuayi has no future at Chelsea and it may even surprise some to hear that he is still at Stamford Bridge.
The Daily Mail now offer an update, stating that Everton have now opted against chasing a deal for Batshuayi this summer.
It may well be that Everton looked into a move for Batshuayi but just felt the numbers didn’t line up.
Batshuayi earns around £90,000-a-week at Chelsea and may well expect to earn similar money at Goodison Park.
Everton need to be careful with their finances and committing to such a deal with Batshuayi may just not be in the plans for them right now.
Batshuayi, 28, joined Chelsea way back in 2016 and is finally out of contract next summer.
Batshuayi has only ever played 77 games for Chelsea, scoring 25 goals and he did feature under Lampard there.
The Belgian spent last season on loan at Besiktas and bagged 14 goals in 42 games for the Turkish side.
That’s a pretty decent record but Everton have seemingly decided that he isn’t the man to replace Richarlison up top.
