Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United and Frank Lampard’s Everton are now facing competition from Real Madrid for Chelsea striker Armando Broja, according to The London Evening Standard.

The London Evening Standard have reported that La Liga and UEFA Champions League winners Real Madrid have enquired about the availability of Chelsea striker Broja in he summer transfer window.

Chelsea reportedly do not want to sell the Albania international striker, who spent last season on loan at Southampton.

The report has added that Everton, Newcastle and West Ham United are keen on securing the services of the 20-year-old striker, described as “a really, really exciting talent” by former Manchester United defender and Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville on Sky Sports Premier League in February 2022.

Blow for Newcastle United and Everton in Armando Broja chase

In our view, Real Madrid’s interest in Armando Broja is a blow for Newcastle United and Everton in their pursuit of the Chelsea striker.

Yes, Karim Benzems is the number one striker at Madrid, but Los Blancos are arguably the biggest club in the world and Carlo Ancelotti – a former Everton boss – is one of the best managers on the planet.

A move to Madrid would be much more appealing to Broja than a transfer to Newcastle or Everton.

Now, of course, Chelsea do not want to sell Broja, but we know that in football, especially when the transfer window is open, money talks.
