Jose Enrique has said on Twitter that Leicester City attacking midfielder James Maddison would be an amazing signing for Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United in the summer transfer window.

The former Newcastle star has said that he hopes that the Magpies are able to sign the England international playmaker from Leicester this summer.

The Telegraph have reported this morning that Newcastle have made a bid of £40 million for the 25-year-old.

Leicester have reportedly turned down the bid.

Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth has claimed on Twitter that Leicester are looking for £60 million in transfer fees for the 25-year-old.

Good signing for the Magpies

In our view, James Maddison would be a brilliant signing for Newcastle United, not just for now, but for years to come as ell.

The 25-year-old has been a success in the Premier League, and his best years are ahead of him.

Maddison scored 12 goals and gave eight assists in the Premier League and scored one goal and gave two assists in the Europa League last season.

However, you have to wonder if Newcastle will pay Leicester the £60 million they reportedly want for the Englishman.
