Earlier this year, internet users went wild when McDonald’s announced that Halloumi Fries would be added to the menu – and the launch date is finally here!
It’s the most exciting new item since the notorious Chicken Big Mac which launched earlier this year and had to be removed from the menu due to such high demand.
Halloumi Fries are part of a brand new menu called Taste of Spain and Cyprus which launches today (Wednesday, July 27th).
The squeaky cheese snack isn’t the only thing you’ll want to try on this much-anticipated menu. Read on to see all the new items…

New McDonald’s Taste of Spain and Cyprus menu
The new menu celebrates Spanish and Cypriot food with two new burgers, a side and a drink.
If you’re a burger lover, you’ll adore the Spicy Spanish Stack which has two beef patties, red onion, lettuce, chilli cheddar cheese and a spicy tomato sauce inside a paprika bun.
Chicken fans will prefer the new Chicken Fiesta which is the same but has a crispy chicken fillet instead of the two beef patties and is topped with chorizo.
Instead of normal fries, the burger meals will come with four Halloumi Fries and there’s also a new drink to wash it all down with too.
The exciting Spanish Fruit Punch is a berry and citrus-flavoured soft drink that is bright red in colour and looks really refreshing.
How much are the new menu items?
UK McDonald’s lovers are outraged this week as the fast food chain is hiking the price of some of its most famous menu items for the first time in 14 years.
A cheeseburger is increasing from 99p to £1.19 and many other menu items will go up by between 10p and 20p over the summer.
However, the new Taste of Spain and Cyprus menu is still pretty reasonable:
- Spicy Spanish Stack – £5.39
- Chicken Fiesta – £5.39
- Halloumi Fries – £2.49 (single) £6.49 (share box)
- Spanish Fruit Punch – £2.29 (medium) £2.61 (large)
How long will it be available?
The summer Taste of Spain and Cyprus menu will be available for six weeks from Wednesday, July 27th until Tuesday, September 6th.
It’s replacing the Taste of Italy menu which finished on July 26th and featured the Italian Stack Burger, Crispy Chicken Italiano Burger, Tiramisu-flavoured McFlurry and Mozzarella Dippers.
On Twitter, McDonald’s fans are most excited for the Halloumi Fries, with one person writing:
