Alessandro Bastoni has told La Gazzetta dello Sport that he hopes that Milan Skriniar stays at Inter Milan, amid interest from Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur and Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea.

Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea linked with Milan Skriniar

It was only last week when Il Messaggero reported that Tottenham are interested in signing Skriniar from Inter Milan in the summer transfer window.

The Daily Mail reported in June that Chelsea are targeting the 27-year-old Slovakia international central defender.

Inter defender Bastoni, who himself has been linked with Tottenham this summer, hopes that Skriniar does not move to Spurs or Chelsea and stays at the former Italian champions.

Alessandro Bastoni’s wish

Bastoni told La Gazzetta dello Sport, as translated by TheBootRoom: “He embodies the Inter spirit. Milan has integrated perfectly over the years and we have integrated with him in the department we have built together.

“Plus, he’s my best friend in the group. It would really be a shame to leave us right now, I hope he stays. I think we’ll still do a lot of great things together.”

Could a transfer happen?

In our view, Chelsea are more likely than Tottenham Hotspur to sign Milan Skriniar from Inter Milan in the summer transfer window.

Tottenham head coach Antonio Conte could do with another centre-back if Davinson Sanchez or Joe Rodon leaves, but he is not in desperate need of another player in that position now that Clement Lenglet has joined on loan from Barcelona.

Chelsea’s move for Sevilla defender Jules Kounde could fall though, which means that the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners could be very determined to sign Skriniar.
