Davinson Sanchez has claimed that there are ‘always possibilities’ regarding his future at Tottenham Hotspur, as he told MrBeanyman.

The Tottenham defender added that ‘every summer is the same’ regarding his future and speculation he could head for the exit door.

In 2017, Spurs paid Ajax £42 million for Sanchez’s services (Guardian), when Mauricio Pochettino was in charge, but he hasn’t become the regular starter he would have liked.

That’s probably why many question his future and are doing so again – it’s been suggested that Antonio Conte rates the defender, but he could still sell him.

Either way, when Sanchez was asked about his future in north London, this is what the hard-hitting defender had to say.

“Every summer, it’s the same,” said Sanchez. “Nothing crazy. Just focus on the team and what the season means for this club.

“Of course, there are always possibilities, but the Premier League is the best league in the world. You have to be part of it if you want to compete against the best.”

Conte is a master at getting out the best from players, whether they are unproven stars, world stars or struggling players.

Sanchez is someone who had a lot of expectations on his shoulders when he first arrived, but he has become too error-prone during his time at the club.

As a result, not only has Sanchez’s game time been up and down, but whenever he has played, he hasn’t been a key member of the backline, but someone trying to prove his worth.

With Clement Lenglet now through the doors, after his loan from Barcelona, it probably pushes Sanchez behind the Frenchman.

That probably indicates the player’s time to leave, but if he wants to reach his potential, then he can do it under Conte, therefore, he should stay put to see where he can take his career.
