Arsenal have signed Gabriel Jesus and it’s clear that Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola remains a big fan of the Brazilian attacker.

City may have won the Premier League title but they have been going through changes this summer.

Fernandinho has returned to Brazil whilst Raheem Sterling has joined Chelsea despite them being a direct rival to City.

Guardiola has also allowed two players to join Arsenal, reuniting with former City coach Mikel Arteta ahead of the new season.

Arsenal have signed Gabriel Jesus

Oleksandr Zinchenko has completed his move to the Emirates Stadium, meaning he immediately joins forces with Gabriel Jesus again.

Jesus secured his move to Arsenal earlier this summer as he decided to leave City and link up with Arteta again.

Jesus will now be given the chance to be Arsenal’s leading striker, something that never really happened for him at City.

Fans are expecting big things from Jesus this season and beyond, believing Arsenal have their star goalscorer for years to come.

City may have sold Jesus but that isn’t stopping boss Pep Guardiola from heaping praise on the new Arsenal man.

Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, Guardiola noted that Jesus is ‘probably the best’ when it comes to defensive actions and pressing ability from a striker.

Guardiola did hail new City striker Julian Alvarez, praising him for an ‘incredible’ display against Club America.

Guardiola feels that Alvarez is ‘quite similar’ to Jesus in terms of pressing and defensive ability, but does think that Jesus is better right now.

“Julian [Alvarez] was incredible, defensively he is quite similar like Gabriel [Jesus],” said Guardiola. “Gabriel is probably the best, but he [Alvarez] is close to him in aggression and how intuitive he is, he makes the runs and with the ball he’s absolutely brilliant. He can keep the ball and you can link with him without a problem,” he added.

That’s the kind of thing Mikel Arteta will absolutely love, knowing that he has a striker who can truly press from the front and bring the energy that this Arsenal side are seeking going forward.

Alexandre Lacazette didn’t quite bring that last season but in Jesus, Arsenal have a striker who Guardiola thinks is the best in a very important area.
