The Little Miss and Mr Men meme trend is still taking over social media this week and it doesn’t seem to be disappearing any time soon.
Based on the books by Roger Hargreaves, it sees people using Mr Men and Little Miss characters to share their own emotions and personalities.
Internet users are creating their own Little Miss or Mr Men by choosing a character, like Little Miss Trouble or Mr Bump, and sharing their own caption with it.
Some funny meme examples are “Little Miss Addicted To Piercings,” “Little Miss Back Pain” and “Mr Doesn’t Drink Water”.
The text can be anything you like, it just has to relate to your personality and shed some light on who you are as a person – the funnier the better!
However, creating your own meme is a little tricky and requires some photo editing skills, especially if you want to make it look like a real Mr Men book.
Here are some fonts to use to make your Little Miss or Mr Men meme look as realistic as possible…
Little Miss and Mr Men fonts
The exact font that English author Roger Hargreaves used on the Mr Men books is not known, but here is a list of very similar ones:
- Trebuchet MS
Putting your text in any of these fonts will make it look like a Mr Men or Little Miss book. Note, you may need to put the font in bold first.
How to make your meme
Unfortunately, there’s no Little Miss meme maker or application that makes the meme for you and you’ll have to whip out your editing skills if you want to make your own.
- First, you need to find the Little Miss character that you want to use. You can find a full list of Little Miss characters with photos on Mr. Men Wiki here and a full list of Mr. Men characters here.
- Next, screenshot a photo of the character from Google Images and insert it into a photo editing app that allows you to add text. The most popular one is Photoshop, but there are loads available on iOS and Android.
- Then, all you need to do it add your caption above the photo. Make sure you use one of the above fonts if they are available on your editing platform so it looks similar to the original books.
- Now, all you need to do is save your Little Miss or Mr Men meme and upload it to social media!
It’s based on Roger Hargreaves’ books
If you’re not from the UK, or you didn’t read the Mr Men book when you were growing up, you might be a little confused about the trend.
Roger Hargreaves was an English author who wrote a series of famous Mr Men books which began publication in August 1971.
Every story is about a different character which is named after a specific emotion or action, like Mr Greedy, Mr Happy and Mr Bump.
In 1981, he also launched an accompanying series called Little Miss which uses female characters like Little Miss Sunshine, Little Miss Bossy and Little Miss Giggles.
Roger Hargreaves sadly died in 1998 but his son Adam carried on the series which is a huge part of many British childhoods.
