Fabrizio Romano has reported on Twitter that a potential deal for West Ham United to sign Armando Broja from Chelsea is now off.

The well-known and well-respected journalist has claimed that West Ham are now set to sign Gianluca Scamacca from Sassuolo.

The Hammers have reached personal agreement with the Italy international striker, according to Romano, who has added that a potential deal between the Hammers and Premier League rivals Chelsea over Albania international striker Broja is off as of now.

Earlier this week, Romano had reported on Twitter that Broja had agreed persona terms with West Ham, who wanted to sign the striker on a permanent deal from Chelsea.

The 20-year-old spent last season on loan at Southampton from Chelsea.

Update on West Ham United deal with Chelsea over Armando Broja

In our view, if West Ham United complete the signing of Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca, then Armando Broja is unlikely to move to London Stadium in the summer transfer winow.

Let us not forget that West Ham already have a striker in Michail Antonio.

Broja would find it hard to get into the Hammers’ team ahead of Antonio and Scamacca.

A move to West Ham now would not appeal much to the Chelsea striker.
