Football website 90Min claim Everton and Leicester are showing interest in Middlesbrough talent Marcus Tavernier – after Boro opted to reject £10million offers from newly-promoted duo Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth.
Still only 23, Tavernier has emerged as one of Middlesbrough’s best players and mainstays in the last couple of seasons. With 155 senior appearances to his name, Tavernier is a player that was always likely to attract interest.
Four Premier League clubs are in the running. Bournemouth and Forest have had eight-figure bids rejected, with Chris Wilder’s side keen to rake in a fee closer to £15million. Everton and Leicester are also showing interest in Tavernier.

- Robin Koch an unsung hero at right-back in Leeds’ final games of 21/22
The Leeds-born midfielder, younger brother of Rangers captain James Tavernier, has just entered the final two years of his contract at the Riverside. A move is very possible for the 15-time England Under-20 international this summer.
Everton showing interest in Tavernier: Forest bid rejected
This is the kind of player clubs like Leicester, Everton and others in the middle batch of Premier League sides should be signing. Young, English, with potential but also massive resale value. Neil Warnock compared him to Mason Mount.
Tavernier is a player that is already considered one of the best midfielders in the Championship. Given he is young, already experienced and English, that should have numerous top-tier sides on alert. It does.
Leicester have plenty of faith in youth and could lose Youri Tielemans. Everton need to bring in some signings. Bournemouth and Forest would give him a chance to play regularly. £15million is a decent fee for Tavernier.
