Ian Wright has claimed that it is ‘amazing’ that Raheem Sterling has played for three elite teams in his career – Liverpool, Manchester City and now Chelsea.
The Highbury legend added that he ‘can’t remember too many people’ that have played for such teams during their careers and that by the age of 27, as he told his own podcast.
Sterling started his career in the colours of Liverpool as a fresh-faced teenager, before his controversial £45 million transfer to the Etihad in 2015 (BBC Sport) where he won four Premier League titles.

And now the England international is on the move again because he is now going to don the colours of Chelsea next season following his £47.5 million transfer (Sky Sports).
That’s three regular Champions League sides Sterling has played for in his career and Wright is pretty impressed by that career path so far.
“I am trying to think of another player that has had three elite clubs like that by the time they are 27,” said Wright. “I can’t remember too many people who have done that.
“It’s an amazing achievement up until this point. I just hope that it all works out because Chelsea still need to make more signings.”

HOW WILL STERLING FAIR IN CHELSEA COLOURS?
When Sterling started at Liverpool, there was a lot of promise to this young and fresh-faced pocket rocket that was trying to help Brendan Rodgers win the Premier League title.
He was pretty bold to stick his neck out and leave Merseyside by moving to Manchester and joining the top team in the country at the time.
But the London-born star hasn’t looked back since and it will be interesting to see how he fairs for a Thomas Tuchel side that would be considered the best team outside of the Premier League’s top two.
Chelsea need that nudge, defensive structure and regular goalscorer so they can compete for the Premier League title, but can Sterling provide the goals needed?
Even though Romelu Lukaku’s return ended in disaster, at the end of the day, his presence is no longer there and Chelsea are still searching for that player to score 15+ Premier League goals…up steps Sterling?
