Arsenal goalkeeper Matt Turner has raved about his Gunners teammate Aaron Ramsdale in The Athletic and has said that he has been impressed by the England international.

Turner officially moved to Arsenal from Major League Soccer club, the New England Revolution, in the summer of 2022 for £5.75 million (The Daily Mail).

The 28-year-old USA international goalkeeper has been impressed with his new Arsenal teammate and England international goalkeeper Ramsdale.

Turner has said that he has been impressed by the £24 million Arsenal star (The Athletic), but he has made it clear that he wants to take his place in the Gunners’ starting lineup.

Matt Turner on Arsenal teammate Aaron Ramsdale

Turner told The Athletic about Ramsdale: “I’ve worked with Aaron closely now for a couple of days since he’s been back, and he’s a great guy.

“We are developing that understanding of each other. The relationship’s going to be great, and we’re gonna push each other to become really good goalkeepers.”

Competition

Aaron Ramsdale is the number one goalkeeper at Arsenal, and that is unlikely to change anytime soon.

However, Turner will provide stiff competition to the Englishman.

The 28-year-old is at the top of his game at the moment and is an experienced USA international goalkeeper.

Turner should be ready for his chance, and when it comes, he simply has to make the most of it.

Arsenal will have UEFA Europa League football next season, so the American could get playing time in that competition as well as in domestic cup games.
