Celtic target Ben Davies to join Rangers from Liverpool

The Athletic have reported that Rangers have agreed a £4 million deal with Liverpool to sign defender Davies in the summer transfer window.

Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City want(ed) to sign the 26-year-old, but he has picked Rangers instead, according to the report.

Rangers’ bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic have also been linked with Davies.

Davies – who earns £60,000 per week as salary (Spotrac) – spent the 2021-22 season on loan at Sheffield United from Liverpool.

The defender made 21 starts and one substitute appearance in the Championship for the Blades, scoring one goal in the process.

Exciting title race

In our view, the Scottish Premiership title race between Celtic and Rangers next season will be very exciting.

Celtic reclaimed the title from Rangers last season, but the Gers will be determined to win it bak again in 2022-23.

Rangers did extremely well in the UEFA Europa League last season, and the Ibrox club will hope to use that as an inspiration.
