Speaking on The Done Deal Show, CBS journalist Ben Jacobs has been discussing Oleksandr Zinchenko amid reported interest from Arsenal.

The Ukrainian has been strongly linked with a move to the Emirates in recent days, and according to Jacobs, the Gunners are confident of striking a deal to bring the Manchester City man to the Emirates.

Indeed, according to the journalist, Arsenal believe they are the frontrunners in this race, despite reported interest from Chelsea and West Ham.

What’s been said?

Jacobs spoke about Arsenal and Zinchenko.

“Zinchenko ticks a lot of boxes for Arsenal. The player is sold on the move, he’s worked with Arteta before at Manchester City and he knows exactly what he’s getting with that football club. He’s been a superb servant for Manchester City, but this is a very real possibility and it is intensifying, the club are in contracts and Arsenal are relatively confident at this stage, they feel they are the frontrunners and they feel Man City will be open to a sale,” Jacobs said.

Brilliant addition

Arsenal seem to be confident that Zinchenko will be their next signing, and there’s reason to believe that he’d be a fantastic signing.

The Man City man is proven at the very top level in the Premier League, and he’d plug multiple gaps in this Arsenal squad.

Indeed, not only would Zinchenko provide more depth at full-back, he’d also be an excellent midfield option and those are two boxes that the Gunners need to tick right now.

Chelsea and West Ham have been linked, but it sounds as though the Emirates is the most likely destination for Zinchenko right now.
