Danny Murphy has claimed that Everton and Aston Villa target, Conor Gallagher, has ‘what all fans love’ and that’s ‘energy and passion’ to his game.

The Chelsea midfielder enjoyed a fruitful loan spell at Crystal Palace last season, which earned him a maiden England call and now he is a regular under Gareth Southgate.

But he has returned to Chelsea colours this summer, with the midfielder’s task to break into Thomas Tuchel’s team ahead of the new Premier League season.

Will Gallagher still be at Chelsea next season? Or will interested parties, such as Everton and Villa, be able to secure his signature for the new campaign?

Well, Murphy thinks a lot it depends on the type of conversation he has with Thomas Tuchel, as he lauded the qualities he has in his locker, as he told talkSPORT.

“How can you not be a fan of this lad,” said Murphy. “He’s got what all fans love, which is that energy and passion for the game.

“All mixed with a great technique and ability to score goals and make things happen, so anyone is going to be happy to have him.

“I am fascinated to see with Gallagher what he does. I think this depends on the conversation with Tuchel. You need assurances, you can’t promise games, but you can promise him that he plays if he sticks to the levels for when he was at Palace.

“If I was another club in the Premier League, then he would be top of my list to get him.”

EVERTON AND VILLA ARE STRONG MOVES FOR GALLAGHER

If Gallagher is in a situation where he needs to leave Stamford Bridge in order to earn regular minutes next season, then both Everton and Villa would be strong moves for the player.

The 22-year-old is an all-action midfielder, who proved last season in a progressive Crystal Palace side, that he can also score goals, with eight Premier League strikes to his name.

There’s no doubt that the Chelsea academy product can hit double figures, but he needs the regular starts in order to continue his development.

What Gallagher also needs to understand is that in order for him to maintain his spot with England ahead of the 20222 World Cup, then those minutes also need to be maintained.

If he’s not going to get that under Tuchel, then moving to either Everton or Villa would be a healthy call by the Englishman and a move that would also suit both parties.
