Celtic won’t be signing Edouard Michut or Aaron Mooy this summer with Ange Postecoglou denying interest in both players.

The Bhoys have secured the signings of two new faces this summer with goalkeeper Benjamin Siegrist and left back Alexandro Bernabei arriving.

Add in permanent deals for loan stars Daizen Maeda, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Jota and Celtic look like the favourites for the title again.

Ange Postecoglou will still want more new recruits but two names have been ruled out from arriving at Parkhead.

It’s no great secret that Celtic are in the market for another midfielder this summer.

Nir Bitton and Tom Rogic have left the club this summer and Celtic will be looking for another midfielder.

Vinicius Souza was heavily linked with Celtic before choosing a move to La Liga side Espanyol last week.

Celtic were seemingly focusing on an anchor man to replace Bitton but an interesting link emerged on Wednesday.

Sky Sports reported that Celtic were planning to offer £2million for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Edouard Michut.

Michut is allegedly keen on leaving PSG this summer due to a lack of first-team opportunities in the French capital.

A technically-gifted playmaker, Michut could have been ideal for Postecoglou’s style of play – but a deal seemingly isn’t on the cards.

Postecoglou has told the Daily Record that he is aware of Michut and and thinks he is a good player, but Celtic aren’t interested.

“Yeah, good player, but no,” said Postecoglou. “I have an interest in every good footballer in the world, but there is a limited market which I can tap into,” he added.

Postecoglou was also asked about Aaron Mooy, who is a free agent after leaving Chinese side Shanghai Port.

Mooy worked under Postecoglou in the Australia national team setup and his wife hails from Scotland, leading to rumours about a move to Celtic.

Yet Postecoglou claims that whilst Mooy is a ‘fantastic’ footballer, Celtic aren’t planning to sign him this summer.

“He’s another footballer who is very much talented and very much in my range, but that doesn’t mean we’re going to bring him in, no. Aaron’s a fantastic footballer, somebody I know really well. I’m sure he will get picked up, he’s a very talented player,” he added.
