Aston Villa are ready to sell Carney Chukwuemeka – but would ideally not let him join Newcastle United this summer.
Villa have some incredibly highly-rated young talented emerging at the moment.
Cameron Archer, Tim Iroegbunam, Jacob Ramsey, Aaron Ramsey, Louie Barry, Ben Chrisene, and Jaden Philogene-Bidace are just some of those attracting praise and hype.
Few have really matched the buzz around Carney Chukwuemeka though, with the playmaker touted for absolute stardom.
The 18-year-old has long been tipped for a big future – but that future could lie away from Villa Park.
Aston Villa are ready to sell Carney Chukwuemeka
Chukwuemeka was given 294 minutes of Premier League action across 12 appearances last season.
It’s clear that Steven Gerrard thinks highly of the teenager having given him those top-flight opportunities.
Yet on Wednesday, Gerrard confirmed that he has ditched Chukwuemeka from the travelling squad to Australia for pre-season.
The reason is that Chukwuemeka has refused to sign a new contract. His current deal ends in 2023 and Villa don’t want to see him walk away.
This is a clear message to Chukwuemeka; he will seemingly not play for Villa whilst his contract situation continues in this way.
The Daily Mail now report that Aston Villa are now willing to sell Chukwuemeka this summer as they have lost patience with his contract situation.

Clubs will now be queuing up for Chukwuemeka’s signature, with 90Min claiming that Arsenal and Newcastle United are both interested.
The two teams may be ready with bids for the teenage playmaker but Villa may have some reservations.
The Telegraph suggest that Newcastle like Chukwuemeka so much that they are ready to bid for him – but Villa would rather not sell to Newcastle.
Villa see Newcastle as a direct Premier League rival and would rather sell Chukwuemeka to a foreign club.
That makes Newcastle’s task very difficult, but money talks and the Magpies may be able to throw plenty of it at Villa.
