Frank Lampard is personally driving Everton’s efforts to sign Chelsea striker Armando Broja, who is wanted by the Toffees as the Merseyside club look to replace Richarlison this summer.
According to the Evening Standard, the English coach is keen to sign the Albanian international as Lampard’s former side look to sell Broja this window, with the 20-year-old phenom enjoying a breakout year in the Premier League last season following a loan spell at Southampton.
As per the report, Newcastle United and West Ham are also pushing hard to sign Broja, who could be available for as little as £30m this summer. Though according to a recent update from the Athletic, the attacker has now flown to the United States to join up with the Chelsea squad.
Whilst there has been no significant movement over Broja’s exit from Stamford Bridge, Lampard’s personal efforts to sign the striker for Everton could play a big role in the Premier League side landing the Chelsea talent, with the Toffees in desperate need of another attacker.
Although Dominic Calvert-Lewin looks set to remain with the club, the departure of Richarlison has complicated matters for Everton, with the Brazilian the club’s top goalscorer last season as the Liverpool side barely escaped a shock relegation down to the Championship.
Indeed, Broja could be a great addition for Everton if Lampard is able to pull off his mission and sign the Chelsea talent, yet the arrival of the striker could force a re-think from the English coach over how the Toffees play next season, reverting to an almost old-school style of play.
Broja signing for Everton could lead to permanent 4-4-2 change

Everton are no strangers to the 4-4-2 formation, yet the signing of Broja could see the system return with the Albanian leading the line with Calvert-Lewin, a strike partnership that could be difficult for any Premier League side to handle given how much physicality there is.
And this switch could be a catalyst for real change at Everton, with Lampard keen to get the historic English side off their feet and back into the big leagues, and signing Broja could kick all of that off if the Toffees boss can land his man this summer.
