According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Everton and Wolves want to sign Edin Dzeko, who was sold by Manchester City in 2016.

What’s the story?

Well, the Italian news outlet believe Inter Milan need to make space in their attack for Paulo Dybala, and are therefore looking to sell the 36-year-old.

Despite his age, Dzeko proved he is still a fine striker by scoring 17 goals in all competitions last season, while also impressively providing ten assists.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Frank Lampard and Bruno Lage are willing to offer the Bosnia and Herzegovina international a new home, and we believe he’ll be available for a bargain fee.

Dzeko has already entered the final 12 months of his contract, and with Inter Milan keen to sell him anyway, we can’t envisage the Italian giants demanding a huge fee for their No.9 this summer.

Everton and Wolves fans should know all about the towering frontman, after he scored 50 goals in 130 Premier League appearances for Manchester City.

Dzeko won two Premier League titles during his time at the Etihad Stadium, before being sold to Roma in 2016.

In our view, Everton and Wolves should only sign Dzeko if they simply cannot find a younger alternative.

In Everton’s case, supporters would surely become quite annoyed if they saw another ageing frontman arrive at Goodison Park, after the 32-year-old Salomon Rondon was inexplicably signed last summer.

Despite Dzeko’s obvious ability, Wolves fans would also like to think they can make a better long-term addition.

Of course, if a younger option cannot be found, then Dzeko would surely do a good job for at least one season.

However, at the age of 36, neither Lampard or Lage would be able to rely on him as a long-term option, so it would be back to the drawing board next summer if he is signed, in our view.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Inter Milan are looking to send their No.9 somewhere this summer.
