Nottingham Forest want to re-sign Keinan Davis and have now started talks with Aston Villa over a potential deal for the striker.

Forest continue to make moves in the transfer market and now appear to be closing in on Huddersfield Town midfielder Lewis O’Brien.

Since winning promotion to the Premier League, Forest have snapped up the likes of Dean Henderson, Giulian Biancone, Moussa Niakhate, Neco Williams, Omar Richards and Taiwo Awoniyi.

O’Brien will add quality in midfield but Forest still won’t be done as they seek to make the signings that will keep them in the top flight.

Another striker will be vital even after securing the big-money addition of Nigerian ace Awoniyi.

There have been links to Southampton striker Che Adams, but the Saints are unlikely to sell this summer.

It seems that Forest would like a striker who knows the ins and outs of English football to go alongside Awoniyi.

The Telegraph now claim that Forest would like to sign Aston Villa striker Davis alongside Huddersfield ace O’Brien.

Discussions have been held with Villa about bringing Davis back to the City Ground either on loan or permanently this summer.

Forest took Davis on loan in January and he certainly impressed with his hold-up play, proving to be a menace for Championship defenders.

Davis, 24, surely won’t be playing regular first-team action at Villa; he could even be fourth-choice behind Danny Ings, Ollie Watkins and youngster Cameron Archer next season.

That will give Forest hope of bringing Davis back to the City Ground, with the striker arguably playing the best football of his career in the second half of last season.

A deal isn’t imminent and Forest will need to be patient on this one, but with talks underway we could sell see Davis back in red and white again next season.
