Chelsea will wait until ‘later on in the summer transfer window’ before deciding whether or not to let Everton and Aston Villa target, Conor Gallagher, leave, according to a report.

iNews claim that Chelsea are open to loaning out the 22-year-old again, with Frank Lampard keen to bring him on board at Goodison Park.

Aston Villa are also seemingly keeping an eye on the all-action midfielder, who was on-loan at Crystal Palace last season, with Steven Gerrard a fan of the player.

GALLAGHER NEEDS REGULAR STARTS

If Gallagher can earn the regular starts at Chelsea next season, then he should stay put at Stamford Bridge and continue to develop his fast-progressing career.

But if he finds that is hard to come by, then he can’t hesitate and he has to head for the exit door once again, whether on-loan or on a permanent basis.

For the past two seasons, he has been in the colours of West Brom and Palace, which has resulted in him becoming an England international, where he is now fighting for that all-important spot in the England squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

At Everton and Villa, he would get the minutes he craves and he would also elevate both sides that struggled last season by securing a bottom-half finishes.

Those in the Midlands are in a far better position than the Toffees, who recently sold one of their star men in Richarlison and they need serious quality to avoid another relegation battle.

For Villa, the feeling was that the team underachieved last time out, hence why Dean Smith was sacked, with Gerrard now tasked to get the club back into Europe.

Gallagher’s possible addition would certainly help them along the way, as Thomas Tuchel now has a big call to make on his future during these coming weeks.
