Yusuf Yazici’s agent is flying to England to discuss a transfer for the Lille midfielder after talks with Premier League duo Fulham and Nottingham Forest, as reported by RB Sport.
The phrase ‘clear as mud’ comes to mind.
Just last week, the Turkish international’s representative claimed that both Fulham and Forest had opened negotiations with a free-scoring midfielder who found the net eight times in 10 games on loan at CSKA Moscow after firing Lille to the 2021 Ligue 1 title.
“Yes, Fulham and Nottingham Forest are interested in Yusuf,” Adam Chebedzhi said. “Now, the clubs are negotiating.”
The Athletic then reported, only a couple of days later, that Yazici ‘is not a player Steve Cooper wants’ at the City Ground.
Of course, this does not mean Nottingham Forest did not make an enquiry for the stylish 25-year-old playmaker. Perhaps they decided, after holding a round of talks, that Yazici simply wasn’t the right man at this moment in time.
Or perhaps Cooper and the club’s recruitment team had different opinions about the former Trabzonspor man.

Either way, there has been no such denial on Fulham’s part.
Fulham and Nottingham Forest linked with Lille’s Yusuf Yazici
The Cottagers are yet to bring in a direct replacement for the departed Fabio Carvalho. But Yazici – dubbed an ‘amazing number ten’ by none other than Mesut Ozil – would slot in nicely to the number ten role in Marco Silva’s 4-2-3-1 formation.
Chebedzhi, when providing an update on his client’s future, ruled out a return to Russia for the former CSKA loanee. He is now en route to England as transfer talks continue.
“There is no particular interest from Russia. I have already left the country,” Chebedzhi says. “I returned to Turkey for Eid, and from here I will fly to England (to talk) about Yusuf.”
So keep your eyes peeled, Fulham fans.
While Joao Palhinha rocked up at Craven Cottage after weeks of negotiations and very public speculation, the £12 million-rated Yazici could be arriving by stealth.
