Juventus are strongly considering a move to sign Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira, who Mikel Arteta is eager to offload this summer as the Gunners boss continues to clear out the squad.
According to TuttoMercatoWeb, the European giants are ‘seriously’ thinking about moving for Torreira, a player who Massimiliano Allegri likes the profile of and a midfielder who the Italian wants to sign for Juventus this summer, much to the joy of Arsenal.
Torreira’s future has been murky for quite some time after a move to ACF Fiorentina completely collapsed after the Tuscan side submitted an offer so low for the Uruguyan that Arsenal reportedly didn’t even respond to it, quashing any hope that the midfielder would sign for La Viola on a permanent deal.
However, this hasn’t stopped other Serie A sides from chasing Torreira, with numerous Italian clubs now interested in the Arsenal outcast following his incredible year with Fiorentina, with the Gunners now just desperate to offload the 2018 Unai Emery signing.
The former Arsenal manager signed Torreira for a reported £26m, and despite a breakout first year in the Premier League, the former Sampdoria star has failed to adapt to life in England, with the midfielder joining Atletico Madrid on loan in 2020 before joining Fiorentina a year later.
Indeed, with Juventus stepping up their interest to sign Torreira, Arsenal could finally be able to get the Uruguayan off their books for good this summer, and the 26-year-old would be making a big leap in his career if he was to sign for the European giants.
