Football London report that Joe Rodon is missing from Tottenham Hotspur’s tour of South Korea this summer due to illness – with 18-year-old defender Charlie Sayers a last-minute replacement for the Wales international.
Spurs landed in Korea on Sunday. But the club confirmed that Harry Winks, Tanguy Ndombele, Gio Lo Celso and Sergio Reguilon were all left in North London, as the quartet seem to look for a transfer away from Spurs.
Rodon has also remained in the Capital but Alasdair Gold reports that it is not for the same reason as the other four. Indeed, the defender – who does have Premier League interest from Nottingham Forest – is actually unwell.

Indeed, a decision was made at the last minute and left-footed Sayers has replaced him. Rodon could well end up leaving the club this summer, but reports state that Antonio Conte is still unsure on what to do with the defender.
Rodon missing from Tottenham tour due to illness
It will come as a blow to Rodon. The defender will have been looking at Korea as a chance to show Conte what he can do. But this latest hindrance will do nothing in helping convince Conte that he needs to remain.
Ultimately, Spurs have signed another centre-back in Clement Lenglet – who is also remaining at Spurs with the club failing to sort out a Visa. If anything, he has fallen further down the pecking order at Tottenham.
If a loan move to a Premier League club, Forest or elsewhere, lands on the table – then Spurs and Rodon would be foolish not to take it. It comes after just 24 outings in two seasons at Spurs.
