Newcastle United want Jack Harrison and Eddie Howe loves the work rate and attitude offered by the Leeds United winger.
There has been a common theme in Newcastle’s early transfer business; bolstering the back line.
Left back Matt Targett has joined permanently from Aston Villa after shining on loan.
Then it was goalkeeper Nick Pope who joined before Sven Botman finally secured a long-awaited move from Lille.
With a back line of Pope, Kieran Trippier, Botman, Dan Burn and Targett, Newcastle look immeasurably stronger than they did this time last year.
Newcastle United want Jack Harrison
The attention will now turn to attacking additions with a winger high up on Eddie Howe’s wish list.
Bayer Leverkusen star Moussa Diaby is the top target but he may be too expensive, meaning Newcastle could go for a cheaper option.
One player linked of late is Leeds United ace Jack Harrison, though the Whites surely won’t want to sell easily.
The Daily Mail now claim that Newcastle are considering a bid for Harrison because boss Howe is a huge fan.
Howe is understood to love Harrison’s attitude and work rate and seemingly believes that he would be ideal for Newcastle.

So where would Leeds stand on such a deal?
The Whites are set to lose one winger with Raphinha seemingly heading to Barcelona this summer.
Leeds have managed to land Luis Sinisterra, but he may not be a direct Raphinha replacement; the Colombian is right footed and played on the left flank for Feyenoord, whereas Raphinha is left-footed and has played on the right.
Harrison has been occupying the left flank for Leeds but if Newcastle really are keen, there could be a chance for Sinisterra and Daniel James to be Leeds’ main wingers, with a replacement for Harrison then targeted.
It still seems unlikely that Leeds would let Harrison go alongside Raphinha this summer, but we may see Newcastle throw money at Leeds in search of a deal.
