Tottenham want Oscar Gloukh and think they lead the race to sign the Israeli playmaker this summer despite interest from Rangers.

Tottenham have enjoyed a fine window so far, securing five signings to bolster Antonio Conte’s squad.

The theme has been proven quality; three players with real Premier League experience have arrived in Fraser Forster, Yves Bissouma and Richarlison.

Ivan Perisic and Clement Lenglet have joined too, bringing top-level experience to this Tottenham squad ahead of the Champions League.

Tottenham do though need to think about adding young talent as well, and Fabio Paratici may have his sights set on something of a wonderkid.

Tottenham want Oscar Gloukh

The Sunday Mirror (10/07, p74) report that Tottenham want to sign Maccabi Tel Aviv playmaker Oscar Gloukh this summer.

It’s stated that Tottenham have now made early contact about a potential deal for Gloukh in an attempt to win the race.

The report claims that Roma, Borussia Dortmund and Ajax are keen whilst even Rangers are interesting in a deal to lure Gloukh to Ibrox.

Tottenham think they lead the race though and believe a £10million deal may be in the offing for the teenager.

Gloukh, 18, was the driving force in Israel’s superb run to the final of the UEFA Under-19 European Championships earlier this summer.

Gloukh scored three goals in the tournament, including against England in the final.

UEFA even named Gloukh in their team of the tournament with plaudits raining in for him; former Israel international Gil Vermouth has even called Gloukh ‘special’.

The Mirror’s report even notes that Gloukh is being compared to Yossi Benayoun, a player who became a Premier League regular with West Ham United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal.

Tottenham seemingly want to get in early before another club can secure Gloukh’s signature, and whilst Paratici has placed a real focus on proven quality this summer, adding an up-and-comer like Gloukh could be perfect thanks to his creative and goalscoring promise.
