Arsenal’s Lucas Torreira is being offered to Juventus after seeing a permanent move to Fiorentina fall through earlier this summer.

The Gunners have brought in four new faces this summer with Matt Turner, Marquinhos, Fabio Vieira and Gabriel Jesus all arriving.

Mikel Arteta will still want more new recruits but the attention will turn to offloading some unwanted players this summer.

The likes of Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Reiss Nelson, Bernd Leno and Pablo Mari are likely to be available, for instance.

Another player in a similar boat is Torreira, who is back at Arsenal after spending last season on loan with Serie A side Fiorentina.

The Uruguayan enjoyed a fine campaign, bagging five goals in 31 Serie A games from midfield.

Fiorentina showed an interest in keeping Torreira permanently but then couldn’t strike a deal – leaving Torreira hugely disappointed.

Torreira admitted that there was simply no chance of him staying at Arsenal, but an exit route hasn’t exactly been clear.

Gazzetta dello Sport now claim that Torreira has been offered to Juventus as a possible midfield addition.

Juventus are focusing on Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Leandro Paredes but are now considering Torrera as an alternative.

Juventus sold Torreira’s Uruguayan international teammate Rodrigo Bentancur to Tottenham in January and now want bodies in midfield.

Torreira knows Serie A having played for Sampdoria as well as Fiorentina and that experience could be appealing to Juve.

The 26-year-old cost Arsenal a cool £26million back in 2018 but has only managed 63 Premier League appearances for the Gunners.

Having spent the last two seasons on loan – first at Atletico Madrid and then with Fiorentina – it’s clear that Mikel Arteta just doesn’t fancy Torreira.

Arsenal won’t get anywhere near their money back for Torreira, but will hope to get him offloaded quickly in order to bring in funds.
