‘I’m told’: Journalist says Tottenham could sign ‘luxury player’ after Djed Spence

Speaking on The Done Deal Show, journalist Dean Jones has been discussing Tottenham’s transfer plans.

The north London club have already made five signing this summer, and it looks for all the world like Djed Spence will be made their sixth addition in the coming days.

However, Jones has been told that Spurs’ business may not be done there.

Indeed, the reporter says tha there could be two more signings to come, and one of those could be a luxury player.

What’s been said?

Jones shared what he knows about Spurs’ business.

“Djed Spence is on the verge, and I’m told there are possibly two more to come, only little ones probably, but maybe one of those could be a luxury player that is actually quite exciting at the back end of the window. They have the bulk of their business done right now, and that’s an absolutely fantastic position to be in,” Jones said.

Creative midfielder

Jones says that Spurs could target a luxury player, and you have to imagine that will be in the form of a creative midfielder.

Antonio Conte usually plays a 3-4-3, but he’s been known to use a 3-5-2 in the past as well, and in order to utilse that tactic, he needs a creator in the middle of the park.

Unfortunately, Spurs don’t have a player in that mould right now, but after being linked with the likes of Christian Eriksen and Paulo Dybala this summer, don’t be surprised if they add a playmaker towarde the end of the summer.
