Italian outlet Juve Dipendenza suggest that Everton could strike a deal with Juventus that would see them swap Andre Gomes for Adrien Rabiot – a player that is also supposedly on the radar at Liverpool.
Rabiot, 27, is now in the final 12 months of his contract at Juventus. He is said to have asked to leave the Italian club after three years with the Old Lady. He is keen on a move to the Premier League.
Other reports from Italy state that Liverpool are also considering a swap move for Rabiot – with Naby Keita going the other way. Gomes, 28, has spent the past three years at Everton after joining the club from Barcelona.

He has a contract at Everton until 2024 but is one of the top earners. Last season, he managed just 19 games for the Toffees. Everton, with issues regarding Financial Fairplay, will want to bring in some cash.
Getting rid of Gomes’ wages is likely to be priority, but he will obviously need replacing. The report claims Everton and Juventus could come to an arrangement in which £15m-rated (Guardian) Rabiot comes in for Gomes.
Everton could strike swap deal: Gomes for Rabiot
Gomes does need to go this summer. His wages are big and offloading him is important for Frank Lampard and the club’s finances. But bringing in Rabiot, would only see them replace those wages with a similar figure.
Rabiot is a top, top player. One of the best holding midfielders in Europe. He would be a significant improvement on Gomes, so the attraction is there. But the wages will be an issue, and convincing Rabiot, too.
