Rangers are set to sign Antonio Colak after the PAOK striker arrived in the United Kingdom to undergo a medical with the Gers.

The Gers have been desperately chasing a striker signing this summer and more could yet follow depending on the future of Alfredo Morelos.

The likes of Mateo Cassierra, Stephen Odey and Erik Botheim were all linked but it has been clear who is at the top of Rangers’ wish list.

PAOK hitman Colak has been the apple of Rangers’ eye of late and it now looks like a deal is on the verge of completion.

Rangers are set to sign Antonio Colak

Colak has been linked with Rangers for weeks now but forcing through a deal with PAOK has been difficult to say the very least.

A £1.8million deal has been agreed for days but PAOK were holding off completing the deal because they wanted a replacement.

The Herald now add that Colak has arrived to complete a medical and finally seal his move to Rangers once and for all.

Colak, 28, bring a different threat to the Rangers attack given that he stands at around 6ft 2in tall.

A Croatia international with three caps to his name, Colak will hopefully bring more goals to the Rangers attack but his history is a little mixed.

Colak has bounced from club to club for years now.

The striker has been on the books at Karlsruher, Nurnbuerg, Lechia Gdansk, Hoffenheim, Kaiserslautern, Darmstadt, Ingolstadt, Rijeka, PAOK and Malmo.

Colak’s best times undoubtedly came with Rijeka and Malmo.

51 goals in 92 games was for Rijeka was a hugely impressive record, landing him a move to PAOK in 2020 before heading on loan to Malmo.

Colak then went and scored 22 goals in 41 outings for the Swedish side, including two goals at Ibrox to knock Rangers out of the Champions League qualifiers last year.

Rangers seemingly remembered that night and have now moved to bring Colak to Glasgow in the hope that plenty more Ibrox goals are on the way.
