Feyenoord are looking to sign Javairo Dilrosun as the Eredivisie giants prepare for life without the Leeds United and Premier League-bound Luis Sinisterra, as reported by Voetbal International.

Losing your star player and 23-goal top scorer; That would be a doomsday-style scenario for most clubs. But Feyenoord have had plenty of practice when it comes to bouncing back from big-name departures. It’s just the nature of the game in the Netherlands after all.

Last term, Guus Til replaced the thrust and creativity lost when Steven Berghuis completed a controversial move to bitter rivals Ajax. Marcos Senesi came in when Jerry St Juste bid farewell. Sinisterra himself arrived back in 2018 following Jean-Paul Boetius’ exit.

Now, after a remarkable 2021/22 campaign, Sinisterra has more than earned his big break. According to The Athletic, the electrifying Colombia international could be unveiled as a Leeds United player today. The Yorkshire giants will pay £18 million up front, while handing Sinisterra a five-year deal.

And Feyenoord are hardly dragging their feet as they close in on a replacement.

Voetbal International claim that talks are underway to bring Dilrosun – another sprightly left-winger with an eye for goal – back to the Netherlands. Formerly of Ajax and Manchester City, Dilrosun is in need of a fresh start after a disastrous loan spell at the atom-destroying black hole that used to be Bordeaux.

Talks with the Hertha Berlin-owned forward are underway.

“Lucho (Sinisterra) has been doing very well,” Colombia team-mate and Tottenham Hotspur defender Davinson Sanchez told AS this week.

“He played in a European tournament final (the UEFA Conference League). He’s earned his place in the Netherlands. He has qualities. He showed them in the national team.

“If he has the chance to come (to Leeds), he will compete. And I think what he has in his favour is that this is a league of duels. He is very strong in duels and will be able to make a difference like (Liverpool’s) Luis Diaz.

“If he comes, best of luck.”
